We were delighted to experience three very busy days with many genuinely interested prospects. This certainly confirms that the trend for serving premium wines by the glass has taken a step up and operators are recognising their need for wine preservation technology.
There is something to be said for selling the technology “in action”. What we saw at Hostex was that many prospective customers ( a number of which we have tried to set up appointments with previously), upon seeing Le Verre de Vin in action for themselves, are now asking for appointments to see how it could benefit their establishments!
AND something else that Hostex brought home to us was that we realised that we cannot rely on word of mouth.
Because so many establishments see Le Verre de Vin as giving them an advantage in the market, they tend not to share this information as they want to retain that competitive edge themselves! Being at Hostex really worked to get the word out there about how cost effective and innovative this wine preservation technology is!
The highlight of the show for us was selling the twin pod bar off the stand in the eleventh hour of the show!! This was a great reward for the time, money and effort from the whole team that goes into this kind of marketing venture. Thanks to all who contributed to make it such a success!
Another highlight of course was the draw that we had for the bottle of Bollinger. The lucky winner of this premium champagne was Lindy Taylor – Congratulations Lindy!!
And so we ended the show on a real high, with many prospective buyers lined up from hotel chains to restaurants, to wine farms…. with a real sense that the Wine by the Glass revolution is taking South Africa by storm!!
