The story starts not too long ago, according to Conrad de Wet of Vinimark. Priscilla Wait of Olde’s Pub and Grill went on a wine tour with Bob Dudley. While on this tour, she got hooked on wine and went back to her business with a whole new outlook. On chatting to Priscilla, (who by the way is bubbling over with excitement), she told me that with the Le Verre de Vin in place, that they went from offering 8 wines, and not all by the glass, to offering 22 wines – all by the glass. Suddenly Olde’s Pub and Grill is in higher demand than ever, and without having to change their menu they have become a more premium destination – appealing to both local and international clientele. Priscilla feels that the success of having Le Verre de Vin in place, and therefore being in a position to offer their full new and extended wine range by the glass, lies in their customers being able to have a choice. They can have different wines with different courses, they can try new wines without needing to buy a whole bottle (this works especially well with people from overseas), they can have just one glass, each person at the table can have their wine of choice….
Conrad feels that part of the success lies in Olde’s Pub and Grill being the passionate about what they are offering their clients, that they are enthusiastic about their wines and that they offer good food, and now they are adding great wine to go with it – a perfect combination. Added to that he feels that with their Le Verre de Vin in place and being properly utilised, that they are now over-delivering on people’s expectations, and this is adding to their success even more. Conrad is extremely excited about the success of the collaboration between Vinimark and Olde’s Pub and Grill. He feels that making this kind of investment just takes you right up the ladder to becoming a premium destination.
