Sitting on a cliff overlooking the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean, nestled at the foot of the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range, you will find the sumptuous The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. You could not ask for a more perfect location.

By virtue of what the Hotel has to offer, it is a given that they will attract many international and local guests and along with this comes a demand for a great experience.

The Bermar Collection SA is extremely proud to have a Le Verre de Vin wine preservation system installed at The Twelve Apostles to be a part of creating that superlative experience. The rationale for having a Le Verre de Vin system is that there is a huge demand for quality wine by the glass and their system makes this an extremely viable option – enabling them to serve superb premium wine by the glass which in turn has a positive impact on wine sales and profits.

We recently had a chat to Angus van Aarde – the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa.  He has had experience with Le Verre de Vin wine preservation systems for more than ten years while he has worked within the The Red Carnation Hotel Collection (which The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa is a part of.)  Prior to that he had worked with Le Verre de Vin systems at The Double Tree Hilton.  As a result he is a strong advocate of Le Verre de Vin.

Angus confirms that the trend of wine by the glass is well entrenched with the Twelve Apostles clientele and guests have a high expectation of good quality wine by the glass.  The reasons for this vary… they may want to try different wines;  they may need to drive when they leave and they don’t want to go over the legal limit; they may be having lunch and still have the rest of their day ahead of them or they may just be coming in for a pit stop before they go and enjoy a day of fun-filled activities… the reasons are many.  As a result,  The Twelve Apostles offers their full wine list by the glass.

Angus went on to elaborate that in addition to the wine by the glass offering, The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa also offers Champagne by the glass.  Because they are a premium venue,  it is vital that their system is able to preserve champagne as well.  Le Verre de Vin supports this by preserving any open bottle of champagne in seconds and keeps it fresh for up to twenty-one days.  Angus commented on the positive impact of having a preservation system in place has : “ We can now offer premium wines and champagne by the glass without the fear of expensive wines going off before they are sold.”

The Le Verre de Vin unit is installed in the Leopard Bar, however all the venues at The Twelve Apostles use this machine to preserve their wine.  The staff find the unit extremely user-friendly – it takes second to preserve and is simple to use.

The machine is very robust and therefore reliable. Angus really appreciates the high level of after sales service from Ernest and their machine is well-maintained and is serviced regularly.  In Angus’ opinion, without their Le Verre de Vin system, they would not be able to offer the prestigious wine and champagne selection that they do, as it would be financially prohibitive.  Their Le Verre de Vin system is financially viable and supports their need to give a superior offering to their clients.
